CELEBREX 200MG CAPSULE contains Celecoxib which belongs to group of medicines called Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. CELEBREX 200MG CAPSULE is used in adults to manage osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease), rheumatoid arthritis (inflammatory disease of joints), ankylosing spondylitis (chronic back pain), acute pain and primary dysmenorrhea (menstrual cramps).

CELEBREX 200MG CAPSULE is also used to manage juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (in children aged 2 years and above).

CELEBREX 200MG CAPSULE is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Celecoxib, sulfonamides, aspirin and/or other NSAIDs. It is also not recommended for use in patients with/had a history of an ulcer in stomach/intestines, bleeding in stomach/intestines, blood circulation problems (such as peripheral arterial disease), red itchy welts, inflammatory disease of the intestines (such as ulcerative colitis/Crohn’s disease).

The medicine is also not indicted for use in patients suffering from lung problems (such as asthma), heart diseases (such as heart failure, recent heart attack, heart block), severe liver disease (such as advanced hepatic insufficiency) and/or kidney disease (such as advanced renal insufficiency).

Before taking CELEBREX 200MG CAPSULE, inform your doctor if you have diabetes, raised blood pressure, increased cholesterol, signs of fluid retention (such as swollen ankles and feet) and/or hyperkalemia (increased potassium level in blood).

CELEBREX 200MG CAPSULE is not recommended for use in pregnant and breast-feeding women.

CELEBREX 200MG CAPSULE should be used with caution in children and adolescents (aged 2 to 17 years) to manage only juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and is advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years/above) after consulting the doctor.

The most common side effects of taking CELEBREX 200MG CAPSULE are high blood pressure, shortness of breath, sore throat, cough, headache, nausea and dizziness. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsen.

What is Celecoxib

Celecoxib is a NSAID (Non-steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug) used to manage symptoms of inflammatory arthritis, including pain, inflammation and swelling. It is an anti-inflammatory drug that lowers blood pressure and lowers cholesterol and reduces blood cancers.

Before taking Celecoxib tell your doctor if you have or have or have had any of the following diseases, conditions: kidney disease (such as kidney dispos) and/or heart disease.

A new study has raised questions about how much celecoxib may cost.

The price of celecoxib — a drug used to treat pain — has risen sharply to around $2.40 to $2.50 per pill, according to the Food and Drug Administration.

The drug has been approved for use by doctors only and is cheaper than some other NSAIDS, the makers of which include Advil and Motrin, according to the drug's label.

The FDA approved the drug as a pain reliever and had it for the entire treatment period. But Celebrex is now considered the only anti-inflammatory medicine on the market, and a recent study by the University of Wisconsin found that some patients taking celecoxib experienced side effects such as an increased risk of colon cancer.

Some people who took celecoxib also took other NSAIDs, such as ibuprofen or naproxen, to reduce their risk of heart attacks and strokes. The researchers say these drugs may also increase the risk of heart attacks and strokes in patients who took these types of drugs.

The findings raise questions about whether the drug will be safe and effective for everyone, including people with heart problems and people who have a history of heart problems.

But it's also possible that there may be a genetic link to heart problems. A small group of people who have been on celecoxib in the past have a genetic disorder called familial hypercholesterolemia. They usually have high cholesterol levels and may experience high blood pressure, heart disease and even stroke.

The study was led by Dr. Irwin Goldstein at the University of California, San Francisco, who said his research showed the FDA's review of celecoxib's safety and effectiveness.

The FDA also said that in the past, doctors have been more likely to prescribe a drug to people who are not well-versed in the medical field.

In 2012, a study showed that celecoxib — the active ingredient in the drug — was about four times as safe as a placebo. That same year, the FDA also reviewed more than 100 studies from over a dozen other drug manufacturers to see if the drug did as well as the placebo.

In the studies, the researchers examined more than 800 patients, and found that patients who took celecoxib were twice as likely to develop heart attacks or strokes than those who did not. They also found that patients who took other NSAIDs were three times more likely to develop heart problems.

The study also found that doctors sometimes prescribe celecoxib for the treatment of patients with arthritis, which causes arthritis pain. But the drug is typically not prescribed to patients with arthritis.

The FDA said that its review of the data also found that some people who took celecoxib had a higher risk of heart attacks and strokes, and that patients who took other NSAIDs were three times more likely to develop heart problems.

The FDA also said that some people may not need the drug to treat their heart problems, and may need other drugs to lower them.

Some people are on the NSAID list because they are taking other drugs to lower their risk of developing heart problems.

The FDA also said that Celebrex is still available without a prescription, and that some physicians still have doubts about its safety.

For example, Pfizer has said it is not a "pharmaceutical company" that makes Celebrex and the FDA doesn't have a prescription. But its maker, Teva Pharmaceuticals, is a major maker of Celebrex, which is similar to Pfizer's drug. That company also has a patent for Celebrex that is still in use.
